Interra Online Deposit

Sign, scan and send deposits from home or the office.  Or take a picture and upload it on the go!

With Interra Online Deposit, you can do almost all of your banking from the comfort and convenience of your home or office. Using an everyday desktop scanner or digital camera, you can simply scan/photograph and submit checks for deposit. Checks submitted for deposit prior to 3:00 pm Eastern Time will be credited to your account on the same business day.
 
You don’t need any special hardware. Interra Online Deposit works with almost all commercially available scanners, including specialty scanners for high volume business accounts.  You may also use a digital or phone camera to capture images of the front and back of checks.

It’s easy to register 

  • First, complete the Interra Online Deposit registration/application within Interra Online banking.
    • If you are not an Interra Online banking user, register now.
  • Click on the Online Deposit tab.
  • Select the account that you would like to deposit funds to from the drop down, and click Next.
  • A screen will appear in a new window (pop-up windows must be enabled for this to occur) with the online deposit disclosure.  After reading and accepting the Interra Credit Union Online Deposit Disclosure and Agreement and Exhibit A, your registration will be processed.  Please allow up to two business days to process your registration.
  • You will receive an e-mail notification to let you know if your registration is approved. It will also let you know your frequency and dollar limitations of the Interra Online Deposit service.

Hardware and Software Specifications

In order to use Interra Online Deposit, you need the following:
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP with Internet Explorer 6+ or Vista with Internet Explorer 7+
  • High-speed Internet connection
  • Document scanner or digital camera (2.0 mp or higher).
Recommended:
  • Windows® XP or Vista with Internet Explorer® 8 or Firefox®* 3 Web browser, OR
  • Mac* OS X 10.5 with Safari 3.1 or Firefox® 3 Web browser
*Requires Java runtime environment v1.5+

Endorsements

The back of each check must include:
  • The words "For deposit only at Interra Credit Union"
  • Your member number
  • The website address www.interracu.com
  • Today's date (mm/dd/yyyy)
  • Your signature
You may use an endorsement stamp in place of a written endorsement.
 
PLEASE NOTE: If the back of the check is not properly endorsed, Interra Credit Union reserves the right to reject the check for deposit.

Submit your deposit

After you endorse the back of the check(s) according to the indications above, follow these steps:

Deposits via scanner:

  • Login to Interra Online banking and select the Online Deposit tab.
  • Choose the account you would like the check(s) to be deposited to.
  • Use the Choose Scanner button. (You will only need to do this one time.)
  • Enter the total deposit amount of your check(s).
  • Simply scan the front and back of each check and click Finish after each scan.  Then click Continue button to go to Deposit Review

Deposits via digital camera:

  • Login to Interra Online banking and select the Online Deposit tab.
  • Choose the account you would like the check(s) to be deposited to.
  • Enter the total deposit amount of your check(s).
  • Simply take a photo of the front and back of each check with a digital or cell phone camera (.jpg or .png format) and upload them into the system, clicking Finish after uploading each side of the check.  Then click Continue button to go to Deposit Review.

Access your funds

Checks submitted for deposit prior to 3:00 pm Eastern Time (ET) will be credited to your account on the same business day.  Deposits submitted after 3:00 pm ET will be credited to your account on the next business day.  Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Please refer to our Funds Availability Policy to find out how soon your deposit will be available for your use.

Some items can’t be submitted

  • U. S. Savings Bonds
  • Any item drawn on your account(s) at Interra or an account you have at another financial institutuion.
  • Any item that is stamped with a “non-negotiable” watermark
  • Any item that contains evidence of alteration to the information on the check
  • Any item issued by a financial institution in a foreign country or not payable in U.S. dollars
  • Any item that is incomplete
    • Missing the date, missing the payee, etc.
  • Checks previously endorsed by Interra Credit Union
  • Any item that is stale dated
    • Dated more than six months prior to today's date
  • Any item that is post dated
    • The check date is after today's date. 
  • Any third party check
    • Any item that is made payable to another party and then endorsed to you by such party.

Keep your checks

Once you have scanned your check(s) and your deposit has been credited to your account, securely store the original check(s) for 60 days before destroying it/them.

Retrieving check images

You can access check images in the Interra Online Deposit account history for 18 months.

Fees

The service is available at no cost if you process up to ten items per calendar month. If you exceed ten items, there is a $25 charge for that month, and a 3-cent per item fee over 10 items, deducted on the first day of the following month.
