Interra Credit Union Announces Jackie Powell as Wakarusa Branch Manager
January 15, 2026 – Liz Borntrager, Vice President, Senior Manager Retail Delivery, announced that Jackie Powell has been named Assistant Vice President, Manager Retail Branch at Interra's Wakarusa branch. Since joining Interra in 2016, Powell has been recognized for her strategic vision, ability to inspire and develop teams, and adaptability in a dynamic financial environment. This promotion reflects her dedication to supporting both members and team members while driving a positive, service-focused culture within the branch.
In her new role, Powell will lead the daily operations of the Wakarusa Branch while coaching and developing branch staff to achieve sales and service goals. She will continue to foster an open exchange of ideas and collaborate with her team to connect spend, save, borrow, and protect solutions for current and prospective members. With a strong emphasis on operational integrity and a membership-first mindset, Powell is committed to delivering exceptional experiences and ensuring the branch continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Powell began her journey with Interra in 2016, serving as Branch Manager for both the Bremen and Etna Green locations. In these roles, she successfully led branch operations, strengthened member relationships, and drove team performance to achieve organizational goals. Prior to joining Interra, Powell built a strong foundation in financial services through leadership positions at 1st Source Bank and Wells Fargo Bank, where she gained extensive experience in branch management, staff development, and delivering exceptional member service. Her background reflects a proven ability to lead teams, implement strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence across multiple locations.
During her time with Interra, Powell has helped with the opening of three new branch locations and played an active role during the Bluffton Motorworks merger last year. She has also received the highest honor at Interra, which is the President’s award for being an outstanding and exceptional teammate and leader, someone who goes the extra mile for not just staff at Interra but our members too.

Originally from Fulton County area, Powell still resides there with her husband and three children, and enjoys spending time with her family, dogs and horses.
