Interra Credit Union Announces Regional Retail Manager Promotions

May 25, 2021 – Liz Borntrager, Jason Koontz and Chris Runyan have all been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Regional Retail Managers, Joel Richard, Senior Vice President of Member Experience, announced recently. “This retail team has made an overall substantial difference in member experience, engagement, and branch performance,” stated Richard. “This promotion was earned through their hard work, dedication, and passion to continually grow Interra,” he added.

With over 20 years of experience at the credit union, Borntrager oversees branch operations, staff development and member engagement for six of Interra’s locations. She looks forward to tackling this new challenge as Assistant Vice President, Regional Retail Manager. “Interra is a local financial institution that cares deeply about the communities and people we serve,” stated Borntrager.

Originally from Iowa, Borntrager earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. She attends and is actively involved with her church, Clinton Frame Church. Borntrager and her husband, Clint, have three children and reside in Goshen, Indiana.

Jason Koontz

A part of the Interra team since 2014, Koontz has over 20 years of experience in retail banking. He directs branch operations and provides leadership as  well as oversight for multiple Interra locations. He is eager to continually grow the retail department in his role as Assistant Vice President, Regional Retail Manager. “

A Hoosier native, Koontz is from Osceola, Indiana. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from Bethel University in South Bend, Indiana. Koontz currently lives in Goshen with his wife, Kristin, and their three children.

Chris Runyan

With over 32 years of financial experience, Runyan directs branch operations, provides staff development and leadership for multiple Interra locations. He looks forward to advancing in his role as Assistant Vice President, Regional Retail Manager. “At Interra, we strive to truly understand the needs of every member we serve so we can bring value through the relationship built,” said Runyan.

Originally from West Virginia, Runyan earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from West Virginia State University in Institute, West Virginia. He resides in North Manchester, Indiana with his husband, Kerry.
