Interra Credit Union Promotes Shawna Koontz to Vice President, Human Resources Operations & Benefits Manager
February 2, 2026 – Andy Marshall, Chief Operating Officer, EVP, is pleased to announce the promotion of Shawna Koontz to Vice President, Human Resources Operations & Benefits Manager. Koontz, a highly respected member of the Interra team, has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources across diverse industries.
In her new role, Koontz will lead the Human Resources Operations & Benefits team and collaborate closely with key organizational leaders to identify and implement human resources strategies that support Interra’s continued growth and success. Previously, she served as Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Operations & Benefits Manager and Senior Human Resources Consultant Lead, where she played an instrumental role in advancing Interra’s HR initiatives and strengthening employee services.

Koontz began her career in the healthcare industry before transitioning into Human Resources leadership roles within the agriculture, construction and engineering, and financial services sectors. At Interra, she has made significant contributions by building trusted relationships at all levels of the organization. She has led her team in automating processes, streamlining operations, and improving efficiency across the organization, all while fostering strong rapport and trust.
Koontz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources from Western Michigan University and is certified as a SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional).
Outside of work, Koontz resides in Sturgis, Michigan, with her husband, Jay, and two adult daughters, Olivia and Sophia. She enjoys attending live music events, following sports, and spending time at the lake with family and friends during the summer.
